NOTICE: This is the first time I have set up a blog so bear with me while I get things figured out.
June 30th
So I have been wanting to travel up north for a very long time. The plan is to spend three weeks and travel up the Alaska Highway (hwy97). My plans include going to Atlin, back tracking and heading down the StewartCassiar highway (37hwy). A trip of this size doesn't just happen at the spur of the moment. I decided to save some money over the course of the last year, not knowing exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted it to be big and memorable.
I am full time dad over the summer which is a blessing but sometimes a curse. The boys are almost 6 and almost 2. We have a lot of fun together but I of course can't do anything to strenuous or extreme. Those of you that know me well, know what I mean. I can be pretty difficult to keep a 2yr olds spirits up driving long distance in a heavily modified Jeep running 38" swampers. Just think, loud , hot, and windy, and rougher than hell. Hiking to the nearest peak can be tough as well. At any rate... they are in... as well as the dog Ryker. We don't really have any hard and fast set plans. We are going to Tumbler Ridge the first night then heading to Farmington (near Dawson Creek) to visit my friends Brad and Denise. After that, the trip is going to take us three weeks to do a round trip ending back at the Anderson family reunion in Burns Lake.
I have my boat and the 20ft bigfoot fith wheel trailer and we are going exploring. Yes even my two year old Rylan is going to have a fishing rod.
Today is June 30th and I am battling with the heat. I am slowly getting clothes together and looking at the long list of to do and to fix and saying holaay f@ck. I dunno how I am going to get it all done. It is time to prioritize.
More later.
